BNI Prize 2015 nomination for Junyuan Chen

1415 Jillian Chen overview-2 for web

The graduation project of Junyuan Chen has been nominated for the BNI prize 2015. For more information on her project, click here.

Junyuan proposes a multifunctional public building for the villagers of Longshang, a Chinese village living on traditional handicraft paper making.
She made her project in close collaboration with the local government and the villagers and included a water cleaning system.

The public building hosts a paper making site, and spaces for culture and leisure. With this intelligent and subtle project, Junyuan joins the recent social phenomenon of young independent Chinese architects trying to regenerate rural areas in China.

The BNI prize awarding ceremony will be held in ‘het Broeinest’ in the city of Eindhoven on Thursday 24 September 2015.
